Overview
Active Resistance Training® creator Terri Walsh fuses core-focused three-dimensional bodyweight flows with asymmetrically weighted and unweighted training sequences. The signature use of 2 foam yoga blocks creates a challenging and unique calorie-torching non-destructive intensity called ‘active resistance’.
A.R.T. Mat Class – Intermediate/Advanced
What is it?
This is a 60 min intermediate/advanced level traditional full-body A.R.T. Method Mat Class. A basic level of fitness and/or ART Fundamentals is recommended.
What will I do?
This class is intense. Entirely low impact and joint-friendly, there are lots of fun, functional combination based movements. Minimal breakdown. Active Resistance Training® is a combination of strength training, barre, pilates, and yoga…… all at the same time!
Who should take it?
Everyone with more than a basic level of fitness. Since we draw from yoga, barre, strength training, pilates, and mobility, you’ll always find something familiar combined with something new. We’ll focus on functional coordination and strength that facilitate usable mobility and fully functioning flexibility.
What equipment do I need?
– two foam yoga blocks,
– a mat
– ankle weights
– dumbbells
– sturdy chair
