4 Exercises To Embrace and Enjoy Your Arms
This sequence of Active Resistance Training arm and shoulder exercises will shine up your shoulders, biceps, and triceps and leave you loving how you feel.
Do each of these exercises for a full minute every day and you’ll soon see how far a little love goes!
- Side-Lying Isolated Tricep Extension – Lie on your side. Place foam yoga block under your head. Extend bottom arm out on the floor and push down. Extend top arm and line up shoulder and wrist. Bend elbow until the dumbbell descends to the tip of the shoulder. Return to starting position. Maintain the elbow in a stable position throughout.
- Seated Bicep Curl w Hamstring Engagement – Sit on the floor with knees soft and feet flexed. Press the heels into the floor until you feel the hamstrings engage. Keep your upper back engaged and curl dumbbells all the while maintaining the upper back engagement and hamstring engagement.
- Lying External Deltoid Rotation – Lie on the floor. Extend arm out level from the shoulder in an L formation. Hold dumbbell firmly. Release knuckles backward toward the floor until knuckles touch and return to the beginning position.
- Cross Body Tricep Extension – Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat. Extend one arm upward and bend the elbow and descend the wrist across the chest to touch the opposite shoulder with the dumbbell. Return to start position.
Who is Terri Walsh?
Terri Walsh is the creator of the Active Resistance Training® Method, a celebrity personal trainer, and a 40-year veteran of the fitness industry in NYC. She now continues her personal training sessions online as well as teaches livestream fitness classes exclusively since her move to Costa Rica in 2014.
Terri was the first Creative Director of Programming at Crunch Fitness and she also headlined five different shows on Crunch Fitness’ ESPN2, including “Washboard Abs” videos. She created the “Yoga Block Workouts,” which were featured in Self, Women’s Health, Shape, Crunch Gyms, and many more. Terri is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor and Nutrition Specialist. She’s been interviewed, quoted, and featured in numerous beauty, fashion, print, and television media for the length of her continuing career.
